    Gents:

I just obtained a nearly 5 gig file that I'm told is a proprietary format.

Leitch/Harris' VR native stream format (LXF).

Media Info or Premiere Pro does not recognize it.

I was advised that FFMPEG can deal with it however I know nothing about command line programs.

Downloaded Win FF ( Front end GUI) and fiddled around.

How do I get this rewrapped to .mov?

It may have already been compressed.

Can't get it to preview play.

    Thanks

  2. Just pop it into winff and do a test encode to common settings, say AVI/Divx. Set an in and out point a minute apart in the time tab and see if anything comes out.

If it does, then you'll know it works and you'll have to decide what you want your "real" .mov transcode to be.

  3. Found an easy way to make the conversion. Upload the .lfx file to Vimeo (YouTube may work too, but I use Vimeo) and it will convert to viewable format. From there you can download in .mov.

  4. Can anyone share a sample of such a file?
