I'm trying to split an .ASS file and I've already trimmed audio and video tracks, now it's remaining only the subs but, using Subtitle Edit 3.2.8 every time I split them, for some reason all the [V4+ Styles] and the [Script Info] are totally removed, also every line that contains a style, like:
Gets automatically changed to "Default":Code:Dialogue: 0,0:00:22.12,0:00:22.79,Base02,Default,0000,0000,0000,,We did it!
Is it possible to set it in a way that won't remove them? I tried searching different programs (for windows) but I couldn't find anything for .ASS files so far, before I tried with MKV Merge too but there're no key frames where I need to split so it didn't work. Right now I'm trying with Aegisub but I think it doesn't have any function to split the file. I'll have to split many other .ASS files after this, so I'm searching a fast solution, if it were only one then I could edit with notepad but, sadly it's not the case.. xDCode:Dialogue: 0,0:00:22.12,0:00:22.79,Default,Default,0000,0000,0000,,We did it!
Anyways, thanks in advance!

SE 3.2.8 is very old... could you try SE 3.3.4?
Splitting lines should keep style in newer versions of SE. -
Thanks for the advice, I totally forgot to check the updates but, even with 3.3.4 there's the same problem:
Code:Dialogue: 0,0:00:22.12,0:00:22.79,Base02,,0,0,0,,We did it!
Code:Dialogue: 0,0:00:22.12,0:00:22.79,Default,,0,0,0,,We did it!
For more details, this is the text that gets replaced:

OK, seems like a bug in SE - I've tried to fix it here (beta version, portable): http://www.nikse.dk/SubtitleEdit.zip
I've tested it with Tools -> Split subtitle + right click in main window list view -> Save selected lines as...
Does it work now?
If no, how do you split? -
It's working! I'm splitting the file using the duration of a trimmed video (in Basic options, because in Advanced I didn't see anything related to the duration).
I think there's another bug but this time in Advanced options, if you try to split a file using the "Lines" everything is fine, while if you use the "Characters", the styles are going to get removed again like before (or maybe it's supposed to be like that?).
Anyways, thanks so much for fixing it in no time, this is surely gonna save me a shitload of time!Last edited by Kyousuke; 7th Jun 2013 at 11:15.

Nice, thx for testing
