  1. My internet connection max download speed is 250KB/sec. I know this because this is the max speed that will ever be indicated on downloads in the download dialogue box. However, if I am watching streaming video, there is no dialogue box, so I don't know what is the downloading speed to the computer as I watch the video. Specifically, I often watch these PBS Nature videos (http://video.pbs.org/program/nature/). As I watch, the video often pauses for a second or so. The sound plays fine. I also notice the cpu is maxed out at 100%. I have a xp netbook, 1.6Ghz. I just put in 2gb of memory (up from 1gb), but there isn't any improvement, actually it (playing the streaming video) might be worse with the higher memory. If I capture the video first with Stream Transport, then the video plays perfectly and cpu usage is not maxed out as I play the downloaded video.
