Anyway, just to get a heads up, this is the YouTube stream I want to turn into a QuickTime video stream:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xIU2JCwAEek
If you did convert it, please give me the video stream file.
Or we can chat what programs I can use to get the stream file myself.
Plus, I use a Macintosh. So .exe, .bat, or any other Windows file format is not allowed in this thread.
Thanks, and please respond!
UPDATE: This video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xIU2JCwAEek), is not a video with a end! This video is live and broadcasted as a YouTube live broadcast, not a normal video!Last edited by Pikachu4170; 5th Jun 2013 at 22:10.

But this is not a video where you just play and then watch it to the end. This is the kind that is like a live show. FLV is not a live streaming format

This is my idea in a more descriptive manner:
This YouTube video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xIU2JCwAEek) is a live stream. This is not a video with an end (Unless stopped by owner). I want the video to be watched as a live stream in the QuickTime Video Player by grabbing the stream and saving it as a live stream playlist.
For example, a .pls file that has a audio live stream of the KJFK Air Control Tower. What about VIDEO live stream?
Keep trying! -
Open YouTube, start your video- select resolution you want
Step1- right click on video-select pop out
The video will start playing in its own window
Step2- right click on video in its own window- select copy video location
Step 3 Open VLC player- open network location- paste - click ok to close dialog box
Pl note you are not downloading the video- only playing in vlc instead of your browser
Not from me. Saw it on the net. As per the op, woks with almost all players, which can play a link.
I have confirmed that it works with vlc. -
Sadly, I can't see any "Copy Video Location". Looks old and might NOT work anymore. I need a more modern approach.
Plus, how would I download a 24/7 Live Stream's pre-recorded footage? It has Terabytes of info! (Sounds crazy, but it is!)Last edited by Pikachu4170; 6th Jun 2013 at 16:48.

Hi
With Linux I can view that live stream in VLC .
(I don't have Quicktime installed on my system).
Using the program "youtube-dl". Look here ---> http://rg3.github.io/youtube-dl/
This is the command:-
Code:youtube-dl http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xIU2JCwAEek -o - | vlc - --meta-title "GoldenCam"
EDIT
Also can download using this command:-
Code:youtube-dl http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xIU2JCwAEek -o - | vlc - --sout="#std{access=file,mux=mp4,dst='GoldenCam.mov'}" vlc://quit

Thanks! Anyways, VLC is good enough. And I got Ubuntu Boot Camped in my mac just in case so if there is any trouble using youtube-dl on my mac.
So, use VLC to view live and QuickTime to playback footage I recorded.
Again, you saved me once again!
