    Hello
I have tried all sorts of applications including FFMPEG, CCExtractor, GraphEdit, TTSubripper to rip subtitles, but had absolutely no luck at all.
I have come to start programming in C++ DirectShow although I don't know the language. I have come across to this page
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/desktop/dd407356(v=vs.85).aspx
But it says "This functionality has been removed from Windows Vista and later operating systems". I am at my wit's end. Can anyone provide some info about ripping subtitles from teletext?
Here is a wtv file for testing

    Hello Boulder,
Thank you for your suggestion. I have tried with a couple of files. It doesn't seem to work.
I am currently using FFMPEG converting wtv to mkv. Although I can't extract the stream, I can at least preserve the stream now.

    I understand now.
I watched the video, and it is obvious that these are not teletext subtitles, and all those utilities are meant for ripping Teletext subtitles from WTV files.
Noone seems to have tried ripping DVB subtitles from them.
I can understand why, as DVB subtitles are graphic, it becomes harder.
They probably are just stored in the ETSI specification which can be found online, otherwise FFMpeg wouldn't be able to preserve them.
So anyone with sufficient time on their hands could write their own decoder.

Is it possible to extract the graph and time code of the subtitles stream out?
How do you pry into the subtitles stream?

It 's a bit out of my league, even though I am the one who wrote TTSubripper.
I avoided the time issues by using the Teletext clock, but as said before, in your case it is not Teletext but DVB subtitles.
If I were you, I'd ask the people from that forum who wrote a more advanced version, they got accurate time marks, they 'll know how this works.
However, if you're just new to programming, I doubt it 'll be easy to write this kind of stuff.
