Hi guys
When i open my Windows 8 folder and i go to where i have videos stored, the thumbnail for some videos only shows the vlc media player icon (the orange/white stripe cone)? Yet other files (set to VLC) still do show a picture on the thumb?
(Picture sample attached)
Is there a way to change this, so that i can see an actual thumbnail picture of these video files? I know that Windows Media Player can do this.
Thanks in advance.![]()

Answer = unsupported video file formats
You might need to located and install directshow codecs required for those video's ... by default the os will display either a default icon or the last known associated application ... in this case it's vlc
You might need to located the required directshow codec's for the system to perform thumbnail preview.
Then there's > Media Preview
