on the main toolbar is the menu choice, History. and one of the selection is 'Show All History'. i chose that but the results are not showing anything from recent visits. all i am getting is stuff from 2011 only. i haven't deleted any temporary folders, and i'm looking for a website that i visited late last night that offered a direct link to power dvd 8 and offered the h264/bd/hd. i d/l'ed it but i want to go there again but can't find it in history. is there something i am missing in firefox. please don't tell me to d/l latest version, i have no more space again on my hdd. i've been d/ling and installing hundreds of magabytes of software and filling my hdd up while trying to resolve many pc issues lately. my current version is 19.0.2 if that matters.

    thank you.

I don't think the history viewer has changed in recent versions. I'm on version 20 whatever. I just click on show all history and I have a choice of today, yesterday, last 7 days, this month, etc....

fyi - it opens up a window and says "library" on the header..

edit - the shortcut is ctrl shift h

either methods work. however, all i am getting is sites visited in 2011. nothing for today, yesterday, etc. just that year only. in one of the screens, the range only says last 6 months. but what about today, yesterday, and so on..

I'm still trying to make heads or tails of this link but I found it after a bit of googling. Good luck - its not as easy as I thought it would be to find the browser history folder.

Edit - ok finally found it using vista:

    C:\Users\NAME\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Prof iles\u8ymqxfv.default

    ITs actually called places.sqlite

Edit - and it needs to have hidden folders visible to do this. - that is if you do it visually not through the troubleshooting link that the webpage guides you through.

nothing makes sense there. no .htm or .html files to view. all the files have filename.sqlite -- example, places.sqlite

Up until Saturday I was able to see all of last years links in the library ... since the update to v20.0.1 only the last 3 months now shows ... the problem might be related to this bug ... they considered making the download ui active component linking it to the clear browser cache ?

He's right. The "u8ymqxfv" part is randomly generated per user.
