    Recently the sound began to grate when I played a music video in vlc. But when I play the same file in WMP the sound (and picture ) is find..
    When I play only music (no video) in VLC everything is ok
    When I use the VLC to play a movie, it is all right.
    I have tried my music videoes on a another PC, and they play normally.
    I tried to re-install my VLC, but it didnt help
    Can somebody help me

    Does the same thing happen in mpc-hc? You could use that instead of vlc - maybe as versatile as vlc. Not sure as I don't really use vlc, mainly mpc-hc for videos.

    Check if your player isn't configured to (unintentionally) up/downsample sampling rate, up/downmix channels, convert from one format to another etc. If you compare your music videos' audio format to that of other content that plays correctly, that should give you some clue where to start looking.
