    Hi guys!

Can anyone please help me how to play this file in Media Player Classic (or Media Player Classic Home Cinema). I think its 4:2:2 chroma subsampling H.264 (a friend told me that, but he is not 100% sure). What codecs or anything i need to instal? I have tryed with VLC and MPC/MPCHC but i got gray picture like this

only player that is ready to play this was PotPlayer. But i dont like them, i want to play that file in Media Player Classic (or Media Player Classic Home Cinema) .. any suggestion?

here is the little part of my video

  2. Plays fine here using mpc-hc (disabled the internal decoders and installed LAVFilters for decoding).
So my guess the problem is simply that MPC-HC normally tries to decode the clip via hardware decoding, which is not possible since most GPUs don't support High 4:2:2 AVC decoding, especially when it's interlaced
    Code:
    Video
    ID : 512 (0x200)
    Menu ID : 1 (0x1)
    Format : AVC
    Format/Info : Advanced Video Codec
    Format profile : High 4:2:2@L4.0
    Format settings, CABAC : No
Format settings, ReFrames : 4 frames
    Codec ID : 27
    Duration : 40s 480ms
    Bit rate mode : Variable

  3. I believe that your problem may lie in that you have a bitrate of 36 Mbps which is rather high. It play in my Windows Vista/VLC 2.04 but somewhat choppy (have other processes running). Attached is the info from MediaInfo

  4. Yu, playback through VLC (2.0.6) works here too.

i have just installed lavfilters right now but dont know how to activate them? otherwise its still not working

with VLC is not working, but i dont like VLC anyway.. MPC-HC would be much better choice

  6. You need to:
    a. disable the internal Filters for H.264 decoding (under Internal Filters; personally I disabled nearly all internal decoders and splitters)
    b. add 'LAV Video Decoder' (I added also 'LAV Splitter' and 'LAV Audio'
btw. there are tons of guides (in example http://www.avsforum.com/t/1357375/advanced-mpc-hc-setup-guide) out there, simply google for:
    mpc hc lavfilters

  8. Many h.264 decoders don't support 4:2:2 chroma subsampling. Another solution is to use ffdshow as your h.264 decoder. LAV isn't necessary in that case (though you'll need a TS reader/splitter, either in the media player or DirectShow).
