  1. I have vidcoder and it works great with blu ray and dvd's. The converted file looks great and is hard to tell from the original. However I am trying to convert some golf tournaments that I have transfered over from my Tivo and are in MPEG-PS (acording to MediaInfo).
No matter how I convert the files they always look really choppy and shaky. Is there anything I can do in the settings of Vidcoder to fix this? I have tried the constant quality option and the avg bitrate option at 6500 kbps and it still is pretty bad. I am also using the h.264 video codec. Thanks for any advice

copy/paste the mediainfo in text mode output. or you could attach a <100mb sample.

get rid of the variable framerate. there is a box to check for constant framerate. and have the video filters set like this.

  5. If the original was a sports broadcast, it's likely interlaced - then you would need to set it to bob deinterlace to keep the motion smoothness

I think newer handbrake/vidcoder and nightly builds have this option now

  6. Thank you so much for the advice. I will encode a sample with the new settings and let you know if it is any better. And yes the original was a broadcast from NBC in HD

  7. These settings appear to be a bit better than before but I'm not 100% sure. I am cutting out the commercials with VideoRedo and then saving the output as a MPEG Program Stream (.mpg). Is this the best way of doing this? The other options to save from VideoRedo are .vob, dvr-ms, .mpv, .rec. Should I be saving as one of these formats before encoding with vidcoder or does it matter?
    Thanks
