HELP - VirtualDub , no way to get it to work. Very Confused !!

Hi,

My brain has just gone to overload on trying - really trying to get it to work.

I am on a linux os porting through wine v1.3.

It was workiing great until recently and now i just can`t figure what goes where.

Yes, i have read through some posts here, including my own but nothing works. This is weird .

I will detail what my method is , see if someone can pinpoint .

- Download from source the .zip , stable version and unzip to C/programfiles/VirtualDub
- Download the 200 plus plugins .zip pack , unzip and place into plugins folder
- Download FFdshow and place in Virtualdub.folder
- Download FFmpeg and place in Virtualdub folder
- Download Xvid and place in Virtualdub folder

When the program crashes i unpack FFdshow and place in plugins . I also do the same with FFmpeg and crashes.

Along the way a folder called plugins32 gets created into which i place .........well, my user name say`s it all.

Please can someone help meeeeeeeeeee.....show me the way .

I tried just the simple install ( as is ) , with a normal .avi and the program sits there for a few seconds and then it`s gone !

What`s happening here, surely i`m not the only one.

I could use some help, Thanks.
