Hi. I have dvd shrink and when I'm not using it to compress a dvd, I use it to do a scan of the disc. It goes through and if I check the preview box I can see all of the footage whipping by. I'm burning blu rays now, and although I have a verify data function on my burning software, I was wondering if there's any software out there that I can at least use to put one of my blu rays in and make sure it's functioning correctly. Basically something to scan it and make sure everything on it is cool and nothing is messing up. Something with that similar function to dvd shrink, although obviously I don't need any other aspect of the dvd shrink part.

  2. Well dvd shrink doesn't scan to make sure things are functioning correctly. It just allows you to rip the content. The DVD could have a lot of broken content, and dvd shrink would read it just fine.

You can try DVD Fab. It does a pretty good job of scanning the blu-ray and allowing you to look over everything.

It scans to parse the structure to help facilitate the shrinking/reauthoring. If the disc is faulty or corrupt, it will have just as hard a time parsing as a player would.

There are not consumer-oriented apps for checking the quality of either dvd or bd application structures. There are pro apps. Complex, arcane & expensive.
