    Hey guys,

Finished capturing my VHS tapes, got about 400 gigs of uncompressed PAL DV stuff, interlaced.

I need a definite recommendation from you, experienced guys, what to do with it next.

    1) MPEG 2 or MPEG 4? I'm not planning to make DVDs so what's better for interlaced video?
    2) What bitrate to set? I'd like the compression to be unnoticable, or barely noticable so what do you recommend.

    Thanks

  2. x264 with CRF (constant quality) encoding. Try a GUI front end like HandBrake. DV should be bff:
