.... 2 posts in 1 day, I must be annoyed!!!

So is there any way to set a default "Zoom" level when opening Pan Crop in Sony Vegas?

I'm SOOOOO bored with constantly having to zoom out from a full frame when I open the Pan/crop window to do my stuff! (mostly resizing and moving over large still pics)
Its also a pain when I "ctrl Z" to undo my last action and the Zoom resets itself to ITS!! default in your face full frame. (even if it was not the last thing i changed).
And why is the Zoom bar so Bleed88ing sesetive???

......or can anyone suggest a software where this sort of thing is unheard of?
I love Sony V but its wasting too much of my time with silly things!!!

After Effects comes to mind, if you're willing to pay. StageTools Moving Picture Producer will also accomplish the same thing, but it, too, is costly--probably unnecessarily so, considering that most nonlinear editors will zoom and crop on photos.

For the sensitivity issue with the Vegas slider, you might want to go into your computer's control panel and adjust your mouse sensitivity.

Despite whatever shortcomings you find with Vegas, be aware that panning and zooming over still photos has never been faster or easier. For those of us who started out doing it frame-by-frame on an Oxberry copy stand (http://www.oxberry.com/filmaker_page.html), today's software solutions are miraculous. And so, hopefully you will beg pardon if people like me don't have a great deal of sympathy for impatient whiners. My best advice for you (both for your current video problem as well as your character) is to develop some semblance of a work ethic.

    You can copy/paste event attributes.

    Look in Preferences:

    A. Please don’t decide what and what isn’t coast effective for me.
    B. Adjusting mouse sensitivity simply slows everything else down.
    C. Forgive me for being an" impatient whiner" but I was under the impression that this was a forum for people to discuss solutions for modern technology and NOT a homage to the techniques of the 1920's film makers!
    D. When you know what MY work ethic and character are like THEN you can comment! Until then please keep your guesses to yourself!!
I'm simply trying to streamline my workflow and hey! maybe help make the world a tad more efficient?
If you have nothing to add to a post but insults please don’t bother! ....ooops better hurry the reel on that projector needs changing....and that splicing block looks like it needs a polish!
AND my advice for you (both your urge to criticize what you do not know and your character) is to develop some semblance of restraint.

P.S. The zoom bar slider is for a fast rough zoom. Enter a number directly, use the crop box handles, or the mouse wheel.

But you also need to remember there's a lot more to be aware of than simple cropping. The tool works in negative space too.

I know. I think I'll just find a number I like and just enter it as standard each time I open Pan Crop.
Just a pain when I'm dealing with hundreds of stills that I just want to make a bit smaller and position somewhere in the frame. They are all different sizes too so dosent help much creating a preset.... mmm perhaps a preset that starts with the zoom fully out may help?
    Thanks!
