  1. Greetings,

I used to watch streaming Youtube videos on Media Player Classic (KLite Mega Codec Pack latest version) and it plays well using the converted link such as http://r8---sn-uh-30ak.c.youtube.com/videoplayback?fexp=900147%2C930902%2C911412%2C932...438FB868183A5E

The link maybe expired after awhile if it was playback after a day or more than 12 hours.

As long as I could remember how it was unable to play streaming Youtube links anymore, here's the post mortem:

So, I don't know what I did, I used to have VLC Player installed and used to play Youtube streaming videos, but it annoys me when it started to play videos, it changes Aero to Basic, and when it stops playing video, it changes back to Aero again. Basically this unexpected action will glitch some of the programs or something was running in the background which I don't want to.

However, I uninstalled it and tried BS Player, claimed able to watch Youtube direct link. It appears to be unwatchable because it eats up lots of CPU. So I uninstalled it and tried GOM Player, nothing works.

Thus, I tried KM Player. It works, however the audio part seems to be with echoes at first, then begin phaser effect all the time. I can't hear properly on the audio when it happens that way.

These are the progress I made, then I turn back to Media Player Classic, paste any converted Youtube URL link and the error states "Failed to render the file". I don't understand how it happened, it used to play the link without any problems.

Could it be the previous installs and uninstalls of the players mentioned above affect the way how Media Player Classic behave? How do I submit the player settings or report in order to find out what is the problem?

I know it was easier to just download the video, I just find this uncomfortable because it used to work, but it's not for now. However, I prefer to watch Youtube streaming from Media Player Classic because less CPU usage, plus ffdshow filters can be used. Downloading the videos takes some time, why not just watch it instantly on streaming method?

I don't find it comfortable watching streaming on browsers, especially Firefox, which eats up CPU also.

Any ideas how to resolve this matter?

    Thanks.

I'm not sure about the problem with mpchc & streaming. I uninstalled that from windows ages ago. It isn't available for linux so I won't likely be trying it again.

If vlc was switching off aero it may just have been that the video output module/driver that was selected wasn't aero compatible. I've had that happen in windows with smplayer. You could try vlc with different output module settings.

Having a video driver that didn't work in aero never bothered me that much. I ended up turning aero off anyway. That compositing stuff looks pretty but uses cpu for no practical purpose I can see. It definitely affects video playback quality, though I don't think you'd see any difference on an i7 gamer machine. I've installed ubuntu a number of times, and one of the first things I do is turn off as many effects as possible.

I don't know if that's any help, but I'd be trying different vlc settings myself.

  3. I used VLC, not only I don't like it the way it behave of changing Aero to Basic, and yes I knew about the video output module. In fact, for the first time I bought this laptop, I didn't use Aero at all because it has only 1GB RAM, and recently I've just upgraded it to max 4GB, which appears to be 3GB RAM for 32-bit, at last I can use Aero. Now the laptop runs much more smoother, and I don't feel like this laptop failing me for the performance, except it can't be used for play the latest games.

Anyways, MPCHC always my favorite, maybe I like the way it is, simple and nothing fancy on the skins and stuffs. At first I do know it can't play Youtube link like VLC, and after some googling, I found out SVPTube can straight away convert the Youtube link to direct video link, which it'll expired if it wasn't used for certain period.

I watched many games streaming from Youtube using mpchc, even mpcbe. After done uninstall VLC, installed BS Player, uninstall it, install GOM Player, uninstall it, install KM Player... MPCHC and MPCBE can't play converted Youtube direct video link. This is very sad for me because I have no idea how the tweak went wrong. Was it the registry or the external filters must have something to do with it?

I reinstalled KLite Mega Codec latest pack, reinstall MPCBE, still not working.

I really need someone who knows how to fix this issue.

    Thanks.
