Greetings!
Can anyone recognize these playback artifacts? I'm using JVC S9500U to capture VHS tapes to computer, and all of a sudden the VCR started to show this type of video stuttering on any tape that I try to play (even on tapes that previously were fine). I got this VCR recently and captured just 5 tapes from it. Here is a short recording of the behavior. Any ideas or suggestions of what this can be and how to deal with it?

It goes from good to bad and then back to good every 10 seconds or so, throughout the whole tape.

Perhaps uneven tape tension or edge damage causing tracking issues?
Have you tried fast forward to the end, then rewind back to the beginning to pack the tape? -
Thanks for the suggestion! I just did that and it still does the same.

Sorry to hear that, perhaps the tape is damaged. Have you tried a second vcr?
What about manual tracking?
