I just bought a new computer Windows 8 . I have a Palmone Pilot Zire 31 and can't get my handheld to transfer (Hotsync) with my Windows 8. does anyone have a link or can tell me how to Hotsync my info.
I have years of important info on my handheld. If I posted this in the wrong area I'm sorry. I just found my login, pw,and I'm so glad because this site has been the most helpful and I was just about to open another account.
Please help,
TC

Borrow a Win7 or XP pc (from a friend), install Hotsync on it, sync the devices, then copy the data (via USB/flash,smartcard, etc) from that PC to your Win8 PC, then upgrade your Pilot Zire to something current that WILL work with Win7/8.

Hey Scott, I have my data from my Pilot Zire already on my old XP computer and have a flash drive. Would I drag the Zire folder to my flash drive and do the same to put it on Win. 8. the last part I really didn't understand. I'm a computer idiot but at least I have all the stuff you mentioned and will see if I can get it done.

 Thanks, TC

When you say "zire folder" are you talking about an actual filesystem directory containing media & text files, or are you talking about something that zire refers to as a folder but is in actuality a database or links to other areas?

Do you plan on continuing to use your zire, or are you going to upgrade soon?
 Scott
