Hi: Can anyone help me with this? I'm running uncropMKV on a .mkv file.

I've been using uncropMKV for quite a while now. Suddenly it started failing with the following error:

Error: The file '[<path-to-file-ending-in>.264]' has unknown type. Please have a look at the supported file types...
I do look at the supported file types via "mkvmerge --list-types" and h264 does show up.

I've tried uninstalling and re-installing; did same on another machine - same error shows up.

I'm running W7 (the other machine I tried was XP). The error seems to indicate some sort of registry error, maybe?
I have installed some (similar) apps that may have overwritten something related to x264 in registry(?). Dunno...currently at the end of my proverbial rope!

Can you please tell me what to try next?

    Thx,
    JakeT

.264 is sometimes a raw encode with no headers as sometimes pulled from a live stream. try using mediainfo on the file.

Sorry - and thanks for the reply - but, I don't see how this will help me.
Can you please explain how mediainfo can help resolve this problem.

    Thx,
