  1. i`ve tried everything, this damned thing doesnt work! and the only thing i want is the 20th century fox trailer, not even 15 seconds...
the problem: i have a (with smartripper 2.34) ripped .vob-file which i can watch without problem in windvd. i also have the needed .d2v file created with dvd2avi, but when it comes to saving as a vfapi-avi using vfapi 1.04 the only output i got is a 0 byte avi file??!!
i tried "save as avi", too, but it is unreadable for media player or virtualdub.
    anyone got a useful hint???

    thanks, ben.

    How do you use VFAPI?
I have never had this problem. Did you use DVD2AVI before? Did you have this problem before? How did you save the DVD2AVI file?

  5. i assume u mean the VFAPI Reader Codec...

add job->choose your .d2v project file created by dvd2avi->select OK->convert->exit....u have your homemade avi file...make sure that all the options are checked in the dialog box that appears right after u selected your .d2v file

  8. vfapiconv will not produce any output for me either. i have my .d2v project file from dvd2avi which i used to add a job to vfapiconv. i make sure all of the check boxes are checked. when i go to convert, it runs fine. however, i get no output file, not even a zero length one.

  9. Found this answer from user name Cart Wheel. I tried it and it worked for me. So maybe this is the same problem you guys are having. Message below:

How are you going from VirtualDub to VFAPI? Is there a VFAPI plug-in for VirtualDub that I'm not aware of?

One thing you should try is running "proxyoff.reg" in the aviproxy folder in your VirtualDub directory. A lot of people seem to leave proxy mode enabled, which can cause problems. Also, the latest version of VFAPI is 1.04, not 1.03.
