    Hello,
I've been looking around to see if I can find out why when you capture through composite (or s-video)
and the audio-in at the back of the card, the volume is very low. If you open the capture window
in Virtualdub and turn on the volume meters, you can see that most of the audio is between
    -20 and -30 db.

I suspect it's the driver, since the card has mpeg-2 HW encoder; that's the volume that ends up in the mpg file.
Using Avermedia MCS software, there are picture adjustments, but nothing for sound.

The card does a pretty good job, but the audio really needs to be normalized post capture.

I've put in a request to the Avermedia tech support but not much so far, they sent me an older driver to try.

Anybody have any knowledge of a capture program that can increase the volume on the fly?
    Can Virtualdub do it?

Have you tried looking for volume controls in the registry? Even if they are there, they may not function. But worth a shot.

Thanks for this, something I overlooked completely. I'll take a look.
