  1. Hello everyone,

I'll start off by saying I really love making videos, altough I'm not that good at it - I still enjoy making them .

Now here's a problem. Last week a stray cat we adopted gave birth (We didn't even realise she was pregnant a few weeks before!), and I made such cute videos with my phone. I just copied it to my computer, but the quality isn't that good. (It's not that bad either though!)
It sometimes has a bit of a green undertone, and you can kind of see the pixels .

As I know very little about video editing, I was wondering if there is any way I can improve this quality? I'm guessing it wont be as simple as downloading a simple program, will it :P?

Or do I just need to videotape again with a proper camera :P. (Didn't think of it at the time)

Thanks alot in advance everyone !

Here's a pic of one of the videos I took - Played with GOMplayer

  2. Use more light. Your camera is using high gain to make up for insufficient lighting resulting in all that noise. And it failed to focus. You may have to move farther away if your camera can't focus at that distance. Try the macro mode if your camera has it.

    Thanks, hech54.

Yes, for a phone. Or any other device that you plan on capturing images or video with. Do you want to reduce extraneous movement & noise, and improve compression efficiency or not?

Necessity is the mother of invention, and if there is something standing in the way of you making good video, you fix it. Whether it's buying up or building up. Even if it seems unusual or incongruous.
