Currently I am looking into purchasing a capture card along with other hardware to make a computer at my company capable of video capture. One solution I have been looking at is the Pinnacle Pro ONE. My question is is if this is the way to go for analog or if it would be better to utilize something like the Hollywood DV Bridge to convert my analog to DV and then to use a card like the Pinnacle DV500 Plus.

Another question I had was whether the hard drive I'm looking at purchasing is sufficient. I am currently running a P3, 1 ghz, 256RAM, with a 20 gig hard drive, and looking to add an 80 gig for the sole purpose of storing video. I've had good experience with Western Digitla and Maxtor in the past and weren't sure how these compare in the video capturing arena. Specifically one I was looking at was the Maxtor DiamondMax 80 gigabyte, Ultra ATA/133, EIDE, 7200 RPM, 9.6-12 ms.

    Thanks in advance

  2. I wont venture in your first question without knowing what you want to use the footage for. (Internal corporative video? broadcast?)
as to the hard drive it's probably fast enough for your needs but you might want more space depending on how much footage you will be working with... digital video is rather space consuming.

The video will mostly be for inserting short clips into presentations. So far I've been using the Dazzle Digital Video Creator on a coworkers machine and the higher ups have loved it. Personally I think the quality sucks and would like to go for something a little better, that can be viewed on a large screen without considerable blockiness happening, which seems to be the case.
