    hello all,
I just have a simple question.
What is good Video Editing program for Mac thats better than iMovie, yet not as in depth or expensive as Final Cut pro. I'm talking the $40.00-$60.00 range.

BTW im running Mountain Lion. Thanks!

  2. Your Apple eco system is iMovie-->Premiere Elements-->FCPX-->Real NLEs

None, that I know of, unless you count buggy Win/Linux ports (ZS4). You could get Adobe Premiere Elements Mac for ~$80USD (maybe get an older version on ebay for cheaper).

Ahh i see. So both of you are pretty much saying that I should stick with iMovie?

  5. I wouldn't recommend iMovie to my guppies, but if price is your main concern and you're sticking with Apple, that's about what you're left with.

Not necessarily. If iMovie is too simplistic for you now, you could always try and see what a Windows or Linux NLE running in Parallels or VM would do for you (depends on how responsive it is). Or move up to FCPX, etc.

Oh how I would love to move up to FCPX...but my wallet won't let me Thats why I was looking for an in between. I guess Express would have been the ideal thing if it weren't canceled a while back...

I misspoke, my bad. seems as though i was under the impression that FC express was cheaper than it was. Elements is looking like the one for me to go with for right now...thhanks all for the help.

  10. FCPX is staggeringly powerful for $300 if you can find any way to stretch your wallet that far. Apple is losing money on the deal knowing the users are forced to buy macs.

Assuming you can even find an old copy of Final Cut Express, (or Avid Express for that matter) it won't run on your OS.
