  1. I am putting together a promotion video for the UK Backward Run and have been trawling websites for 6 hours looking for suitable music that isn't too expensive to use. Can anyone help with suggestions of suitable music please.

I really need 2 pieces for the following video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PHPinfILQi0 (its still in editing stages, but thought this might help to explain what I am searching for).

The first music is for the three sentences that flash up, something that emphasises each sentence. A good example is the start of this video http://toughmudder.com/videos/arizona-2013/
I've come to realise that orchestral and film music don't work.

And I would also like to replace the music on the video with something a bit more rocky which would appeal to people aged 23 - 50.

    Thanks for your help.

Use any copyrighted music written in the last 50-60 or so years and you could run into rights issues.

There is royalty-free music out there but that is often light classical.

There is no reason why orchestral music can not work. Just find something with a little 'zip'. Dance or Ballet music could work. Check out 'Dance of the Knights' from Romeo and Juliet as an example or even 'Spartacus' (the ballet not the tv series). After all those that watch will be concentrating on the visual rather than be distracted by the audial.

  3. Take a look at:

Lots of Creative Commons stuff. Sometimes an email to the artist gets permission, or use is granted simply by including their name in the credits. Worth a try if it's a good track. If it's for commercial/monetary purposes they will generally expect a paid licence deal.
