    I have transfered VHS tapes to DVD's useing a Toshiba DVR670KU recorder. The DVD willplay on the TV but will not play on the computer. The computer will not evensee that a DVD has been inserted into the dvd drive.
    The computer will play movie DVD's and movies that Idownloaded from my camera and camcorder to the computer and put them on a dvduseing Roxie. Can you help me.

    Finalize the DVD in the recorder.

    I forgot to put in the post " have the settings on the dvd recorder set to Finalizing and Compatible"
    and it still did not work.

    Toshiba DVD recorders are infamous for inexperienced users using them in modes that cause problems elsewhere. I am guessing that you have a VR mode issue, but someone else will have to help you with that.

    You mentioned Roxio, although you misspelled it. If you are actually using an Apple computer, we definitely need to know that. I know that Roxio products run on Windows too, but they are fairly common on Apple. Knowing that you really have an Apple computer may be critical to solving your problem.

    On every Toshiba DVD recorder I've used (4 over the years), the default recording mode in the setup menu is called "Main". I don't know about the model mentioned. I once used the alternate VR mode out of curiosity, but had trouble playing it on other machines. Had to use TMPGenc Editor (which can read VR recordings) to import to the PC as plain MPEG, made some edits, then re-authored to standard DVD.
