I just bought a TV which has RCA connections but they are in only. I need to connect my wireless head phones, so that I can hear (I am a bit deaf) and my wife can listen at the same time to the TV speakers.

I called Samsung, they could not suggest a solution, researched internet, no solution.

This morning my friendly specialist electronics shop sold me a Scart connector ‘Adapter Euro - 3 RCA + SVHS + Euro’ for 3.50 euros and now I have my Sony earphones working as before.

I too am pretty deaf . But my Sony TV has an audio output socket which switches the speakers off. Our other ( elderly Panasonic ) TV has independent volume controls for the speakers and for its audio out jack. This is very convenient because my wife and I can watch a programme together.
I have tried two or three brands of radio headphones over the years . I prefer the Sennheiser ( ? 120) because you can set the gain individually for each ear and they auto tune. Mine are In constant use and completely reliable. Changed the rechargeable batteries once after 4 or 5 years and bought a second complete headphone set to use with the computer and as a standby.

I had hoped that this thread would not go AWOL.

It was to assist readers with how one can connect headphones to a TV which does not have an RCA OUT, whilñst maintaining the sound facilty from the TV speakers.

My research on the internet did not bring up a simple nor cheap solution.

When I discovered one, I posted to assist others.
