I'm trying to make a 10sec motion menu using after effects 5.0. I have a still frame as the background and two 10sec mpeg1 clips on top of the background. (kinda like chapter points) I've set the duration of the project to 10 seconds, but when I goto render, it only goes half way (5secs) and then the program freezes, and the only way I can get out is to end the task. The weird part is that when it's rendering my clips are at the end of their sequence at 5secs. (maybe that's the reason it freezes). Has anyone else had this problem?

I FIGURED IT OUT!!!!!!!!!!!! WHOOOOOHOOOOO!
When I imported the 10 sec clips into my project and render them, after effects would speed them up so that they would come out as 5 sec clips. So to fix this problem I divided the 29.97 NTSC standard FPS rate by 2 (giving me 14.985, rounded to 14.99) and made that number my frame rate. Exported as an AVI and used TMPEG to encode it into the standard NTSC DVD format. The outcome is a 10sec high quality motion menu with two video clips playing simultaneously on the same page.
Time to boast!! (I AM THE SMARTEST MAN ALIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!) char! char!
