A working QT wrapper makes it easy to AMA link different file types into Avid which speeds up the process.
An FCP editor once delivered cliprapped HDV, after multiple unsuccesful attempts to import normally (and a lot of swearing) I attemped to AMA the files and not only did they open easily, I didn't even have to transcode in order to work with them.
So that's my own situation. Understandably not a high general priority on these boards.
(There is a German company which makes a less flexible product and it's very expensive.)
