I have taken some videos on an everio hd camcorder and I want to make them smaller file size so I can upload them to youtube.
I've got Adobe Media Encoder and I tried to use it before for this purpose but the final picture was squashed a bit and had black bars on top and the sides!
AME has a bunch of presets for youtube and others but I can't seem to figure it out.
Can anyone advise how to convert the files so the final file size is smaller and the picture isn't deformed or smaller.
The files are .mod at 720x576.
    Thanks for any help.

edit: I meant to put this in the conversion subforum :P Can admin move it?

    I'm moving you.

Is your video in 16:9 display aspect ratio?

Yes I think so. It fills out my 16:9 monitor perfectly

Then resize it to 852x480 for 480p, or 1280x720 for 720p on YouTube.

That didn't work but after messing around I figured out how to do it. I think I had the size wrong, or at least windows properties did. That's why the encoder kept squashing it.

    Thanks anyway.
