  1. I want to know what all commands related to Hard-coding ASS/SSA/SRT Subtitles
    i am trying to Encode mkv Video to mp4 format on x264 CLI alone (no GUI used, practicing x264 cli)
    problem is subtitle is not hard-coded in output mp4, so tell me the all commands used in Hard-coding subtitle

    If I were you, I'd feed x264 with a properly-written Avisynth script.

  4. x264 itself has no libass or similar to support the embedding of subtitles.
    You could use ffmpeg or mencoder to either decode the input, add the subtitles and then pipe to x264 or use ffmpeg/mencoder versions which directly come with x264 support and do the whole thing with ffmpeg or mencoder (which need to be compiled with libass support).

    If you wish to encode to MP4 with X264 (AVC) encoding, Virtualdub works very well and can do in one shot using Textsub 2.23 and the x264 external encoder setup.
