  1. Hi all

I'd like to make all my video files the smallest possible size without losing any quality.
I have all kinds of formats like avi, mov, mkv, flv, mp4 and all kinds of quality.
The only quality change i'm looking for is 1080p to 720p as my computer can not play 1080p.
I'm not sure witch format gives the smallest files. Is it MKV, MP4 or AVI?

One last thing, i prefer portable freeware and i'm not willing to spend money.

It's not possible to shrink without losing quality.

And mkv,mp4 and avi are just containers. You are looking for the best video and audio codecs for small sizes. h264 video and aac audio is probably the best way. You can try shrink with for example vidcoder and see how it looks like for you.
