  1. First off sorry if my post seems a bit OT but after searching other forums I thought you guys would be the best to ask and it is a ripping problem because at the momemt all my ripping programs (both CD & DVD) are regusing to work.

By trying to unsuccessfully use forceASPI and then the latest adaptec ASPI drivers I've ended up with no ASPI drivers on my comp, which means my DVD rippers will not work and my CD ripper only runs at 1x speed.

Anyone know how I can successfully install ASPI drivers in Windows XP? on the adaptec site they only have instructions for systems using pentium or itanium (?) processors but I've an AMD and neither of the two methods listed worked anyway and ForceASPI just does totally nothing.
Dunno, why I bother with XP no drivers ever seem 100% compatible with it, all is forgiven '98SE.

    Thanx in advance

btw I am using IDE drives not SCSI

  2. Ok
so u have run into some aspi problems with win xp system ...
(nice 2 hear that at least some one having the same problems that i had.)
allright back to the problem if i understood u corectly your dvd softwares (decoders, ripers etc.) are failing to detect your dvd drive well if that is the case all u need to do is to give me your E-mail and ill send u ziped ASPI Auto Installer.
dont worry it says that it will work only with win 98 or win nt but it works perfectly with win xp all my problems with my ide drives (dvd-rom and dvd-r as well as cd-rom and cd-r) disapeared.
