how do you use tooLame (there's no .exe) ???
by the way,
why do many people avoid interlaced video?!? as i think to understand, it allows a framerate of 50/60 fps on TV, or am i wrong !?!
and TV-captured material is half the full resolution (576/480) when deinterlaced... so why deinterlacing and not capturing the half resolution (288/240)?
...i really do favor Cinemacraft (good quality and awesome speed)now here's my question - can anybody tell me if there is a possibility to have an interlaced mpeg2 video which is encoded with CCE SP 2.62 ?
i'd like to produce XSVCDs --> PAL 704*576-25fps(50Hz)
...or is it better to have a resolution of 480*576 at same bit rate ???
thanx in advance for (almost) any comments!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

1- it sounds like you downloaded the source code for Toolame. get the 'binaries' instead. those are the compiled .exe's
2- progressive material isn't necessarily half-resolution, even when you get it by deinterlacing. it depends on how the deinterlacing is done. since computers are progressive scan displays, unless deinterlacing is done via playback software, you'll get combing effects on the monitor that you wouldn't on a tv. also, a lot of DVDs are stored as progressive scan streams, which is the obvious way to master it from progressive film frames. -
first of all, thanx for the response...!
now to the combing effects---> as i'm going to watch my XSVCDs on TV the combing effects will become a doubleframerate effect because of the "2 different frames" in 1 progressive combing mpeg frame...
should i deinterlace or not ???
