    I ripped hard ball and I viewed the VOB files with power dvd cause I want to make a svcd well I did the tmpenc (or whatever) converting but whatever aspect ratio I chose I still couldn't get the original wide screen it was always boxed please help!

    in dvd2avi, it should tell you the source aspect ratio (4:3 or 16:9)..this is what you need to put in tmpgenc as source aspect ratio...

    also, choose full screen (preserve aspect ratio) or in the older tmpgenc version I use, it's fit to frame (preserve aspect ratio) for imaging positioning method i believe
