I want a software that can be able to program an schedule recording, for example 5 AM, at that time I'm sleeping. Is for a video capturer for example, encore, easycap, etc.

Honestech and Corel/Ulead do not have this option, I'll hope a help, thanks.

Most Windows programs that allow scheduled recordings either require the capture device to have an analog tuner, or only work with a few tunerless USB capture devices that do hardware-based h.264 encoding. There are few Windows programs that work with a typical USB capture and allow making scheduled recordings. I have never used it, but Debut Video Capture is supposed to allow scheduled recordings from USB capture devices. I did not see a list of supported capture devices on the NCH website.

InterVideo, the company responsible for WinDVR 3, no longer exists, which means that what is available on the web is warez or a trial version that has an expiration date. Install at your own risk.

Honestech tvr 2.5 http://www.honestech.com/main/TVR20.asp is a discontinued shareware product, which once again means what available is on the Internet is warez or a trial version.

Honestech does not have a page for a product called "Honestech HD DVR" anywhere on their website. They did make product with a very similar looking interface at one time, "Honestech TVR". It is hard to say what happened, but there are Chinese companies that provide cracked or hacked versions of someone else's software with their hardware.

It's really weird, but it has an explanation usually_quiet,

Years ago I sent an email to Honestech about TVR 2.5, they said that any support should be with those who sell the software (PROLINK).

Looks like they sell the software to third-party, but do not support when something is modified.

Pixelview and Prolink always used modified Honestech software, for years.

The HD DVR 2.5 is "original" software from Honestech, but they not sell.

Your letter could also be a polite way of handling the problem of hacked and cracked software.

It is hard to believe Honestech is foolish enough to permit a third party to use the "Honestech" name like that, because it forces Honestech to turn away customers coming to them for support and those customers will feel resentment towards Honestech, after seeing Honestech's name and website plastered all over the product.

Over there you would be making an assumption that a company like PROLINK sell pirated software?

I dont think a company like PROLINK do something like that, since it took the Honestech certainly would open a case against them

    Claudio
Other companies sell capture devices with pirated software here, so why not? Honestech is not a software giant, so their ability to sue anyone is limited, especially an overseas company. Prolink and Pixelview were never well-known names in the USA and do not seem to be selling capture products here anymore.

@Jorchking: The installer for Debut Video Capture that I downloaded from the NCH website seemed to be broken. I ended up downloading the latest beta for the free Home version of Debut Video Capture from http://www.filehippo.com/download_debut_video_capture/ to try the software.

According to the program description for the free Home version of Debut, some features from the paid Pro version are disabled, but perhaps you don't need those features. When I tried the Home version, it looked like it may work for what you want to do. You will have to try it yourself to find out for certain.

Debut Video Capture provides options for recording audio from the capture device's own audio, PC microphone jack, or PC audio line in. I connected audio via the PC audio line in, then scheduled a short recording. The scheduled recording feature for Debut Video Capture worked. Note that the program labels various things as "Webcam" even if you have set up to record from a capture device.

[Edit]I tried setting up a timed recording and then exiting Debut Video Capture (Home version). This causes the scheduled recording to fail because the program expects someone to reply to a message asking if the program is for personal use each time it is opened. Scheduling a recording without exiting Debut Video Capture works correctly.
