  1. Are there any ways to make an unfocused shot become more infocused during post-production? If so, how do I do it, and what programs should I use?

Your brain may know what it should look like focused but software can't tell.

Unsharp Mask is typically used, and it's keyframeable.

It all depends on how bad the out of focus is. If it's momentary, like a refocusing during a camera move, it's often left alone. You can use the tool "Defocus" on top though, and make a transition out of it.

But as far as to create focus from out of focus, NO.

You might show us a sample of what you mean by out of focus. If you're talking about a bad fuzzy blur such that objects can't be recognized, there's little or nothing one can do.

The OP should note that it read: "Prototype", and "only works on certain kinds of shots with only 1 kind of blur in them" (not most general photos' problems), and "can sometimes misread elements and make the image worse".

Similar limited scenarios, limited effectiveness, limited utility, LONG processing times. I remain unconvinced.

Unconvinced of what? That someone somewhere might find them useful?

    I'm skeptical too.

But the way they copyright music nowadays is scary. There's like a UPC or SKU number sonically embedded. And it survives tempo and pitch changes.

    How on-topic is that?

It's an example of the sophistication and capability of today's algorithms. Not unlike the type of algorithm that sharpens images.

The topic is whether or not software can sharpen blurry images.

I think it's technically possible, but I don't know how you can take the human out of the cockpit.

Actually, Heggunte, I was throwing cover for Scott. Does that disappoint you?

Sure, compex AI algorithims can do fascinating things, but it is still utterly premature to think that these can or would simply undo longstanding, systemic problems/difficulties. These are useful for isolated, specific elements of problems, and like all NR/adjustment/filtering software methods, they come at a cost (which is likely at first hidden from general users). This sets up unrealistic expectations. To rely on this as aa panacea is to set oneself up for disappointment.

That's what I'm unconvinced about: that those suggested apps would even come close to fulfilling/satisfying the intended true need of the OP.

Somehow, yes. The OP would like to get rid of a problem,
whereas your answer showed an example of how to obtain a problem.

Thanks for the compliment, I am not surprised to see you're a proudly-shameless liar.
