  1. I have had great results encoding movies to S-VCD with TMPGEnc, but when I try it with concert DVD's, which are shot on video, I always get a slight chopiness. It's almost not noticealble, but once you see it its very annoying. I've played with several settings but the problem persists.

    Any ideas????

  2. In settings change framerate to 30fps.

  3. in dvd2avi, what does the info box say about the video source?

is it NTSC, interlaced or FILM, progressive?

  4. It says NTSC. I've turned the Force film option off, so I can't figure out what is giving the slight chopiness.

  5. forced film off and use the NTSC template in tmpgenc (not NTSC FILM template)

otherwise, you can turn forced film off and do inverse telecine in tmpgenc

  6. Ya, it's a little weird... Force film off, NTSC in TMPGEnc (not NTSC film) yet still the little stutters. FPS is 29.97 in both DVD2AVI and TMPGEnc. I will try the inverse telecine tonight. Thanks for the tips!

  8. check the field order(seperate fields 60fps). in tmpgenc advanced tab doubleclick deinterlace, select odd/even field(field) and advance thru the video looking for broad horizontal movement, click cancel to exit, repeat with opposite field order. if you got it wrong demux the video and feed it thru pulldown using the -nopulldown -tff [odd, even] switches

  9. I've tried the various suggestions and still no luck.. BUT, I managed to get rid of the stuttering by clicking on "Do not frame rate conversion" in the TMPGEnc advanced tab. However the audio is totally out of sync with this option. I can't win!!!!!
