This the camera I have:
http://www.wired.com/gadgets/digitalcameras/magazine/test2007/vc_panasonic_hdc_sd1
And this is the microphone I have:
http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/744768-REG/Rode_VIDEOMIC_PRO_VideoMic_Pro_Compact_Shotgun.html
The mic plugs into the jack of the camera but because there is not a mount on top of the camera I don't know how Im going to use the microphone without having to hold it. Is there a part I can buy to stick on top of the camera that will hold this light weight mic? Or should I try to find a mic stand that would be able to hold this mic so I can set it next to the camera? Not sure what to do, need a clever idea.

Something like this, though the stabilizing claims are pretty much nonsense.
