  1. I have over 500 DVDs backed up as .iso images and I've decided that i want to convert them to a more compatible format without losing any quality. I'm looking for a way to convert the iso files to mpg format, however I'd like to do it quickly and in batches if possible. I figure I can mount several iso images at a time using DVDFab virtual drive. I know that handbrake can batch encode, however i don't want to transcode them because it will take forever. I simply want to extract the vobs and strip out all the unnecessary data in the vob and turn it into a single large lossless mpg. Is this possible with any freeware?

You can turn the ISOs directly into an MPEG2 MKV using MakeMKV. Took about a minute and a half to move a movie only ISO into an MKV. It reduced the size by .1GB. Appears you can open multiple instances.

    Or vob2mpg. But no batch.

  4. Thanks. I'll try MakeMKV when I get home.
