  1. I have just downloaded freemake onto another laptop I own but when I try to play files I have downloaded (off a portable hard drive) I only get the audio with no a black screen. The same files will play ok through freemake on my other laptop?

    Please help

Since the files play ok on one of your laptops, the files are probably ok. Then it has to be either your laptop or the freemake program which is faulty. Are the two freemake installations same version, or different?

  5. the freemake installations are different I have the latest version 4 which does not work on the new laptop and an older version 3.1.2.0 on the old laptop which does work. The old laptop overheats and shuts down when I try to burn to dvd which is why I have a new laptop but I can only download the latest version of freemake

You can download old versions from our site, https://www.videohelp.com/tools/Freemake-Video-Converter/old-versions#download

Be sure to unselect/declive all adware toolbars when you install.

  8. still got the same problem when I install an older version of freemake?

however I did try to burn a dvd with the vew version and the picture was on the dvd so at least I can burn the dvd which is what I was worried about. Seeing the picture in freemake was handy because you could edit out bits you did not need on the dvd

Have you compared the settings on both installations. Are they the same?
