I absolutely hate it when a friend says, can you look on the internet and find me a cheap (budget is £150 max) DVD player that has Freeview built in and lets me record from the TV and also lets me watch another channel at the same time??

    WTF!! He doesnt want much

I must confess that i am struggling here. I have trawled the internet and i am not getting anything within budget that is 'decent'.

He doesnt care whether it has a blu-ray drive or not (bonus if it did though) and he really doesnt care about make or model.

Can anyone fire a couple of suggestions my way??

    Huge Thanks

This one is slightly over budget but tell your friend to cut the beer for a week and this will do.

    Thanks DB83. Really helpful.

Only downside is that he is adamant that the new machine be able to play his DVD collection also. I cannot see that these would do that.

The closest i can seem to find is this one (specs seem pretty good too).

Forget the bush but the spec on the Panny - read from the above link - clearly states that this is a dvd-recorder/player.

Thanks again. I am going to run the panasonic that i found by him. Let him decide. At the end of the day, if it goes t*ts up, then he was the one that made the decision

    Huge thanks for your assistance.
