Hi everyone, I'm new on here, and I'm new to editing. I've played around with VideoStudio for a few years, but only to put photos and bits of home recording onto disc so that I can watch them on the telly, so it's all very amateur and for personal home use.
Basically, I purchased VideoStudio Pro X5 (I used a very old version of VideoStudio before that) so I kind of know what I'm doing with it, but I am having major problems burning my projects to disc - I'm reading the booklet and doing everything it says, but I am getting the below error message:
I've looked on Corel's website (as it seems you are no longer able to phone them and speak to a human being and ask for help, and even though I've registered my product, I cannot seem to get online assistance unless I pay extra for it!) and found their suggestions - I have done everything it is saying to do, but it still doesn't work. It also says on their instructions something about:
"(1) exporting the project as an MPEG-2 video file using MPEG Optimiser directly to the Users folder in the default or primary hard drive or to the fastest hard drive ... and (2) use the internal optical disc burner drive attached on your computer to burn the project on to a physical disc" ....
I am totally lost on the exporting bit above - I cannot see any options or instructions on how to do this.
Somehow though, I managed to save my project to Windows Movie Maker and I did manage to burn a disc using that, but the transitions and effects applied to each photo was very judderey and jumpY and not smooth as they are when watching it on the computer, but the music applied plays perfectly.
I'm sorry to be such a pain and such a novice, but if anyone could please help with some easy to understand, pointers, I would really appreciate it. I just want to put my project onto a disc and watch it on my telly, of course, playing smoothly ...
Thank you.

'Exporting' means creating the mpeg2 video file. I do not have X5 but on my older Video Studio program that was achieved from the 'Share' menu.
You then 'import' that Mpeg2 video back in to the program under the dvd author section.
I can not read the error message. Maybe some fault with the upload.
Do not use the dvd-burning app with Corel. Store the created file/folders as an ISO abd use imgburn to do the actual burning on to a disk. -
Thank you so much for getting back to me so quickly - I'll give it a go when I finish work tonight
