  1. Hi, I've been coming to vcdhelp.com for quite a while now and have learned a lot of valuable info.

Now I need some help. My mother wants me to record all her old home movies from the 60s and 70s. I was wondering how you guys would go about doing this. I am thinking I must play the video on the wall and re-record it onto my video camera and then capture onto my computer to burn onto VCD.

However, I don't have a capture card and was wondering what kind of card you guys would recommend. I researched a lot in the forums but everyone has mixed opinions. I was thinking about either the WinTV-Theater (does the radio feature work well?) or the ATI All-In-Wonder. What are the pros and cons of both of these cards and is there another one that I missed that is better than both? I'm running on a compaq 700MHz, 128 memory, and 2 hard drives that total 20 gigs. Right now, my C: hard drive has about 4 gigs free on it to work with. My price range is around $150. I would like a card, if possible on my pc, that could produce the same quality or better of the Jackass episodes captured by "Moitah." They are 20 min. long and equal about 210 mb.

Another thing I wanted to address is capturing TV shows. I was wondering if any of you Man Show fans out there could capture the Thursday, April 4, 10:00 Man Show. It is the Las Vegas hour-long special that is some of the Man Show I've ever seen. I would use my VCR, but I would much rather have it on VCD.

Note: I don't buy/sell illegal VCDs on eBay. I only have non-dvd-available VCDs for my own personal use (Jackass).

    Thanks for any help.

  2. I almost forgot, the resolution for the Jackass videos are 352x240.
