  1. Hi there, I used a script that converted a 2d video (standard definition) to 3d (side by side) using Avisynth.

I have searched around looking for info about burning this file to a standard dvd but have come short so far. From what I see, 3d movies need to be burned to Bluray disks.

I have yet to purchase a blueray burner, let alone player. That is why I am seeking an alternative method.

I read something about avhcd being an option. But I am not sure.

My setup includes a 3d television with bluray player hooked up to it. Bluray 3d movies are awesome and I am just looking to mess around with a few of my 2d videos to see what they look like in 3d. I know the quality will be terrible due to sd quality. I am just hoping to be able to get by without a bluray player/burner.

Is there an option that will burn a 3d movie to a standard DVD-R disk? Any method at all? I realize the final 3d videos will be over 30gb at times. I am simply just tinkering with videos that are at most 10 minutes long.

I hope I have included enough information, if I haven't please let me know.

    thanks.

I would just try make a blu-ray smaller than 4.3GB/7GB, burn the blu-ray BDMV folder with imgburn on a dvdr/rw and see how it works on your blu-ray player.

What blu-ray player do you have? Does it mention that it support avchd? Or maybe it supports other format like mkv,mp4 so you could make something like that.

You could take a 3DBD movie & shrink it down (converting to SbS) and burn as Dvdvideo to standard dvd player and send to 3dtv and it would show up in 3d once you manually set your tv's 3d option to sbs. Quality will be blah because of the downrezzing, anamorphic resizing, bitrate reduction and reencoding, but it might be acceptable to you.

What you are doing right now, however, will NOT look good at all, and it's not because of all those other reasons, though they will contribute, but because any "script" to convert 2d to some fake form of 3d is going to look just like that - FAKE (and probably shitty and fariguing to the eyes, too).

Btw, look into Cyberlink PowerDirector's 3d capabilities to help you get it to 3dbd or 3ddvd or 3davchd.
<edit>...but its 2D->3D feature should ALSO be avoided.

i know nothing about 3D video

but doesn't your blueray player attached to your 3dTv, have a usb port?

why not put your 'expermental' video on a usb stick or external drive and access it from there
