In Pavtube video converter I use a "Directly Copy" format to convert/decode a Tivo video, just like it says there:
Everything goes quick & fine but the output video (502mb, 17 mins) differs from original Tivo video (840mb, 30 mins) don't know why. I tried converting that Tivo in usual way & all goes fine but then I lose the subtitles/CC which were in Tivo & are important to me. I can't extract them via CCExtractor or t2sami, so only hoping to do so via Pavtube."If you select Directly Copy, the converter will remove the protection by TiVo and restore the files to MPEG file (*.mpg) without any quality loss. As en-decoding progress is left out, the conversion speed will be much faster than the later. The converter will generate files right what they used to be before they were made into TiVo files (an inverse progress of encryption)."
Also, Videoredo crashes every time I try to add a Tivo in it.
I'm also curious, is there any other converters for Tivos that do that "Directly Copy" loseless function?
