I tried to search for any answer and came up empty. I have video footage shot in Hi8, DV, HDV, Sony AVCHD and Panasonic AVCHD. All of the tape based video have been captured. The Hi8 and DV tapes were captured as DV avi, the HDV was captured using HDV split and are M2TS files. The Sony and panasonic AVCHD files were straight transfers but are of different file types.
My dilemma is that no one program plays all the differing types of video. Sony PMB handles the DVAVI, and the AVCHD, but not the HDV files. It also does not work with the Panasonic AVCHD files. IS there one program that can be used to organize and view all these file types or am I dreaming?
Any suggestions would be very much appreciated as it is a bear organizing all these videos from the past 20+ years.
