    i wanted to know can a dvd player play mpg the video is mpge4 and audio is mp2

    my dvd player can play mpg from data disc witch is mpeg1/2 and audio mp2

    i would just do a test with a dvd disc but its my last one left

    You can only put mpeg1/mpeg2 in standard mpg.


    If it's mpeg4 divx/xvid and your player support divx then put it in an avi container instead.


    edit: Or well I guess you can put mpeg4 h264 in mpg but it will not play.

    If a DVD player can play formats like divX, MP4, etc, it will say so on the front.
    Also, it's useful to have a DVDRW to test things like that. I have one I've used hundreds of times over the past 6 years.
