Hi I have been backing up most of my anime with AnyDvd HD and Handbrake for a while now and have not had any problems until recently. I encoded all of the first season of Code Geass Lelouch of the Rebellion to MKV container file. When I went through and checked all of the episodes to see if they worked or not a few of the episodes had audio that was cutting in and out for long periods of time and the subtitles did not show up when the audio was cutting out as well. I tried to do the same with the second season of Code Geass and I had the same thing happen with two or three of the episodes from that series too. I used MKVextract GUI for MKVToolnix to extract the streams from the messed up MKV file, and when I play the streams in VLC there are no apparent problems with them. I then tried muxing all of the extracted files back into an MKV file using MKVMerge GUI for MKVToolsnix and when I open the MKV the audio plays fine but the video shows up as a black image of the first second of the H264 Video that was muxed into MKV.

Also I get an error something about sbr to acc or something, when I tried muxing the streams to mkv.

The other thing is that I own two copies of the first season of Code Geass, and both copies are from different releases as well but they both have the same problems with the same episodes when I rip them.

Hopefully someone more knowledgeable then me will know what is going on and can give me some tips on how to fix this problem if possible.

    Thanks, MrRed.

No I looked but had not found anything comparable to handbrake. I will give ripbot264 a shot later and see how it does. Thanks for the reference and hopefully it will work right.
