I'm interested in using a BT878-based capture card (Leadtek WinFast TV2000XP Deluxe) to capture many of my laserdiscs. I decided on the BT878 because I'd like to capture with a square (1:1) PAR in RGB24 or RGB32. I also like having access to the BT8x8 Tweaker so that I can turn off AGC, etc.

Before settling on the BT878, I'd like to see how well it performs on the Snell & Wilcox Zone Plate from DVE. I'm primarily interested in the resolution and chroma frequency response. I know the BT878 has a crappy (notch) comb filter, so I'm definitely not interested in evaluating its Y/C separation performance. (I use the excellent 3D comb filter in my Panasonic DMR-ES10 for this anyway!)

The following link is to an experiment I conducted recently using the Snell & Wilcox Zone Plate from DVE: http://forum.lddb.com/viewtopic.php?p=33347#p33347

Notice that there's no visible resolution loss and the chroma frequency response is excellent!

Can someone please capture the Snell & Wilcox Zone Plate from DVE using a BT878-based capture card via s-video and post the PNG here? The settings you used in the BT8x8 Tweaker would be helpful to include as well.

    Thanks! I do appreciate it...
