I think,therefore i am a hamster.

My next upgrade is a new video card which isn't listed as an option.
My existing system still has enough life in it. Down the road a bit is a new CPU, mobo, and RAM but I'm in no rush. -

Did an upgrade about 2 months ago to these items:
1200 watt Corsair PSU
Gigabyte Z77-D3H M/B
Intel 3770K CPU
8 GB G.Skill Ripjaws RAM
Sapphire 7950 OC GPU
Divco Dual Digital4 TV card
Still need to buy a SSD, extra 8 GB RAM and a NAS. I did do an upgrade to Windows 8, but due to some problems I had to go back to my Window 7 until they sort a few issues out with it. At least it only cost me $40 for it -
I want to build a new computer sometime this year, however my printer is old enough that chances are I will need to replace it soon.

Pull! Bang! Darn!

Might make more sense to me to have multiple choices. I have a few computers so when I buy something I just about always order another external hard disk and some other peripherals as well. My next larger purchase will be a mother board and CPU combo.
That option was not avail.

Some day I will replace my monitor with one that does not change color every time I move my head half an inch; color-correcting photos is something of a challenge.

I've been building mine up incrementally since I did an Ivy Bridge build six months ago or so. I'd hate to stop and think how much its adding up to.
But I'm stopping now. Really. No, I mean it. -

really depends how bad ass haswell turns out to be; if it lives up to expectations, then probably a 4770k and new motherboard.
-
I picked 'Video capture card/device' although I actually bought a tuner. Just ordered another 3 tuners of HDHomeRun Prime. Wife wants HD in the bedroom too.

I upgraded my router to N finally. I guess thats something.
Other than that nothing really.
I would like to upgrade my aging dual core someday.
However between car maintenance and my ever growing and demanding movie collection I haven't put my resources to a new computer yet.Donatello - The Shredder? Michelangelo - Maybe all that hardware is for making coleslaw? -
Whole new computer system for me later in the year - Ivy Bridge i7 for video work, with decent ram and a bucket-load of disk space - probably a 256GB SSD as primary, and a pair of 3TB Greens as secondary, maybe a fast 1TB as a working drive as well. Don't care about graphics card so much, as it won't get much gaming use. Before I sort that, however, I need network file storage - have my eye on a 7-Bay NAS. Now all I need to organise is the finances........

I'm supposed to upgrade it? It seems like it was just yesterday, in 2004 when I built it, and it still works fine???
-
The last computer I built was in 2005.
I have a steep learning curve to get the best video editing machine for the buck... -
Somehow, seriously doubt that. xD
P.S.
I was fortunate enough, when my PSU blew on this box, under warranty, that they installed MSI's Z68A-G43 (G3) && therefore was able to upgrade Sandy i5-2400 to my current i7-3770 (Ivy) and that makes me somewhat content - for a little while, at least; I can understand where zzyzzx is coming from, but '2004' is a little much! =)
Edit: Oh and '05 above, as wellLast edited by nimd4; 17th Apr 2014 at 18:15. Reason: Mostly some syntax

Current 2x3TBs are getting full. Actively searching for NAS options, 4/5 disk Raid5. Pricing is higher than I expected it to be. May just build my own in a mid-tower.
Have a good one,

Already go it but... Acer 27" 2560x1440 monitor. The extra real estate (over 22" 1920x1080) is really nice.

As stated in post #8 I did end up replacing my printer but the planned system upgrade took a little longer than predicted. I just finished upgrading my primary PC with a new motherboard, more RAM, and a Haswell i5 CPU. The next upgrades will be for to the HTPC I built using my old motherboard, CPU and RAM. I want to add a storage drive and either a capture card or a CableCARD tuner.
-
Following through on post #11 I now have an Asus ProArt 24" monitor which is a pleasure to use. My five-year-old desktop is good enough for what I do, so unless something goes bang there will be no upgrades for me.

Remote control, not listed.

Well, what ended up going tango uniform was, you guessed it, Timmy, a Seagate HDD. Got a couple of HGST 4TB HDDs from B&H.
Oh, and a Dell proprietary PSU in a secondary home machine. Had to really hunt a replacement down.
